Camp Optimist's Mission:

To provide youth and young adults with a traditional camping experience in a rustic setting. Providing hope and positive vison, aide and encourage;  promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs ; to inspire repect for law; to promote patriotism.

Camp Optimist

Located two miles west of Standale,10324 lovers lane just off M-45, Camp Optimist located on 120 acres is 10 minutes from Downtown Grand Rapids and .8 miles from Grand Valley State College in Ottawa County. Thousands of children have attended Camp "O" over our 78yrs. Community Programs including the YMCA, Indian Trails, Opportunities Unlimited for the Blind, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and the EcoBus Program (State of Michigan Accredited Math and Science Program) which was Created at Camp O and hosts  Grandville, Hudsonville and Jenison Public Schools 5th and 6th Graders).
